the most appealing .....

offering of the eight-title lineup of International Film Festival Rotterdam is, for my money, Konstantin Bojanov's "Light Thereafter."

Any film that features a looney tune protagonist gallivanting across Europe in search of a painter has Oscar bait written all over it. And any director named Konstantin must be serious

I got no problem .....

with the WGA nominating "Deadpool" for a shiny award.

I'll never the see the film, but the colors in the stills look kinda cool.

And all industry awards are bullshit.

And all industry types know it. So who gives a flyin' fuck? Not I, said the blogger.

have to see .....

Eugene Green's "The Son of Joseph" b/c all French shit extends the boundaries of filmmaking.

Even when the French shit is put out by an American expat.

French shit broods.

Family secrets and ennui slowly rise to the surface. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

had no clue that ....

"One Potato, Two Potato" existed but now I gotta YouTube it always up for a message movie with a muddled message.

Life's like that.
It's why people make fuckin' movies in the first place.

lotta legacy media critics ....

tepidly reviewed "Hell or High Water" and that's because they all grew up in midtown Manhattan and they're on a first-name basis with some of the nation's worst predatory lenders.

So they're not gonna dig a movie that has a shitty-ass reverse mortgage at its core.
Cuts a little too close to home, eh fellas?
